• From Execution to Strategy: The New Role of the Project Manager

Chris Hugman has a deep tenure in corporate and start-up operations in telecommunications and electronic security industries. After 18 years and four start-up companies in telecommunications, Hugman recognized a disruptive force emerging in the electronic security industry - the advent of network-based surveillance cameras. While incumbent providers were resistant to adapt, Hugman launched his own system integration company quickly growing it to a multi-million-dollar business earning several marquee commercial and government clients. In 2009, he merged his company with Knight Security Systems driving continued growth with clients across the State of Texas. In 2014, as an executive leader of Knight Security Systems, Hugman was seeking a business solution to manage the complexities of designing, implementing, and servicing electronic security systems. Not finding a suitable solution in the market, Hugman developed the concept which is now System Surveyor. His vision was to provide a tool that would streamline the process for a sales person during a customer site visit well as a technician during installation and service activities. Today, System Surveyor is serving thousands of electronic security professionals every day. Hugman serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer continuing to work to fulfill his vision of seamless systems management from concept to system end-of-life. Hugman resides in Austin TX with Lisa, wife of 37 years. He holds an BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from SMU in Dallas TX and is a registered Professional Engineeirng in Texas.
