I'M SPEAKING

Your district and schools may have students reading three levels below or three levels above, you may have English Language Learners, students with different abilities and various needs. The days of “1-class, 1-teacher, 1-book” are a thing of the past (literally, the last century.) How can we provide a range of interesting and effective resources, aligned to academic standards, and make them easy to access? Do you need progress and outcomes data to support various pacing and learning needs before it is too late? Technology should make teachers’ jobs easier, and solve problems that otherwise take valuable time. In this session we provide the basics of 1EdTech standard guidelines and real implementation examples. You will leave with a basic understanding of how to integrate resources from various providers to address the needs of all students without creating a mountain of work.

I am passionate about the role that technology can play in transforming education and empowering students to become lifelong learners. As a Contributing Member of the 1Edtech Consortium and member of the 1EdTech CASE Network Advisory Board, I work closely with other experts in the field to identify emerging trends and opportunities in educational technology and provide input to support the integration and effectiveness of Digital curricula in K12 classrooms and schools. As a Project Manager in SDPBC, I oversee a variety of initiatives related to onboarding and integrating digital curriculum. These include evaluating and selecting new instructional resources, working with our selected providers to leverage 1EdTech Standards in order to develop seamless integration project plans, and managing the district's content management system. I am committed to staying up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in educational technology. I have completed numerous professional development courses and certifications, including the Google for Education Certified Educator program and the Microsoft Innovative Educator and TeacherTrainer programs. I have participated in various professional organizations, including 1EdTech, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and the Learning Counsel, and have previously presented at the Florida Educational Technology (FETC) and ASCD Conferences.
